Capoeira

Quoting from Wikipedia, Capoeira is "a Brazilian martial art that combines elements of dance, acrobatics and music, and is sometimes referred to as a game". The DC Capoeira group was preformed during at the Adam's Morgan Street Festival last Sunday. Shooting Capoeira gave me an opportunity to test my x100's ability to capture action. Unlike my D7000, the x100 is known to be weak at shooting action. To get past this weakness, I used the zone focus method to capture many of these shots. When using manual focus, the camera is much more responsive as there is no shutter lag.

Asleep at Starbucks

There are those moments when I feel a photographic inspiration, but I don't have a camera on me. As my D7000 is too big of a camera to have on me all the time, I recently acquired a Fuji X100 to become my everyday camera.  Being a large sensor compact camera, I can take it basically everywhere with me while maintaining an image quality similar to my D7000. I was in Starbucks in Tentley about a month ago when I captured this shoot. Perhaps if the man had drank his tea he wouldn't have fallen asleep. The photographer of the shot, ordered the drink in the foreground. In the background, a woman is leaving with a drink.
